It's been a super long time since I last posted, I know, but things have been BUSY around here lately. I've been trying to get everything finished up for the wedding that is a month away!

I do believe I have finished everything... except for lights... I need clear string lights, which really isn't the easiest thing to find when it's not Christmas.

I picked up my dress last night, & it made it all that much more real to me. Honestly, it's almost unreal to think that I'm going to be married by this time next month.

I just thought I would share a few things that are going to be a part of the wedding...

Here would be my wedding shoes. I think I'm pretty much the only one who likes them, but I love them! I really don't care if everyone else thinks they are silly looking, like a friend of mine said the other night, they are me.

I keep getting my days mixed up today. I woke up thinking it was Tuesday, but I was wrong, it's Wednesday so it's time for Wednesday Loves. I haven't linked up with Jamie in a while, so today seems like a pretty good day.
{Even though I really need to be cleaning, but there is just too much that needs to be done online right now!}

-I'm Lovin'... that the house is finished being worked on! I can't wait to go out and see!

-I'm Lovin'... that I got my dress Saturday. Found it on the second dress. People are right... When you know, you know. & I did.

-I'm Lovin'... the idea of baby's breath. I already know for sure I am doing it at the reception, but I'm starting to like the idea of doing it in bouquets. Cheaper route than tons of flowers.

The Gift I Didn't See Coming

I was definitely surprised at around 6:30 Christmas night with a new piece of jewelry that I don't plan on swapping out anytime soon!

Yes, Jacob proposed!!

I didn't think it would be happening until around February, so I was definitely surprised!

We are both very excited & looking forward to everything the Lord has in store!!

Christmas Here & There

Saturday night we had a Christmas party where I work. It is always so much fun being able to be with those people that have been a part of my life for so many years! Plus there is always great food!
This year my nephews, niece, Jacob, & his brother went, so that made it even more special to me.

{Over the months I've come to find out that my nephews and niece really like Jacob. I'm starting to get a little jealous of all the hugs he gets! ;D}

{My boss' husband loves & I mean loves aggravating people while we are playing Dirty Santa. Poor Graycee was his victim this year. Every gift she got he would take! Then he chased her around the lobby for a picture!}

{This is when the brothers got me! They said they were gonna do it, but I really didn't believe them. I guess they showed me!}

It's hard to believe that Christmas is going to be here on Sunday!! I hope everyone is having a wonderful time getting ready for the big day!!

Christmas Around the House

It's hard to believe that Christmas is just 13 days away! Ok, I'm really excited about it!
I figured I'd share some of the Christmas decorations around the house since every one in blog land is doing it...

& here is a little Christmas survey that's been floating around the blog world as well...

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? It depends on what the gift is. Usually there are quite a bit of both under the tree.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Oh I loved my real trees, but it hasn't worked out that way the past two years, but that's ok I still love it!

3. When do you put up the tree? I put mine up the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

4. When do you take the tree down? Usually after New Year's.

5. Do you like eggnog? No I do not.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? My pink RC Race Car!

7. Do you have a nativity scene? I don't.

8. Hardest person to buy for? This year it has been my mom!

9. Easiest person to buy for? This year it was Holly. As soon as I walked in Hallmark I saw it, & I knew it was for her!

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? MAIL

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Hmmm.. That is a tough one, but it was probably a necklace I got one year that was not about to be wore by me!

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Elf, Home Alone, & Christmas Vacation. I can't just choose one!

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? This year I bought the first gift on November 14th.

14. Ever recycled a Christmas present? Yup

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Beef Jerky. I usually get some for Christmas, so I eat it while I'm unwrapping. :D

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? Oh colored my friend! But I did just go with blue this year as you have seen already.

17. Favorite Christmas song? Beautiful Star of Bethlehem

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay home

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? I can name off a few, but for some reason Cupid always sticks out. {That is a name of one right?}

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star. I did think about doing a Doctor Who tree this year, & putting a weeping angel on it, but I never got around to doing all that.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Around here everyone gets up at about 2 AM on Christmas morning. This year there are three extra people here, so yeah, it's going to be fun!!

22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? The humbugs!

23. Favorite ornament, theme, or color? I always like to go for a bright theme.

24. What do you want for Christmas this year? Spending it with my family & those that I hold dear to my heart! & I can't wait to see Jacob open his gifts because I pretty much ruled at picking out his gifts!

{Day 1 & 2} Thankful...

I know that since it's November many people are posting here and there things they are thankful for each day.
I could have started yesterday, but I didn't since I just decided today that I really wanted to do this. :) Every day this month, Lord willing of course, I want to post at least one thing I am thankful for. Not just because it is November, but because I truly am thankful for them, & because I know it's good to remind myself of how great God really is to this undeserving girl... Some days the things may seem silly, but hey, it's my blog... :D

So here are TWO things I am thankful for...

-I think it would be best to start off by saying how thankful I am that Christ gave His life for my sins. MY sins. He knew who I would be, even after salvation, yet He gave His life anyways.

It's October 5th, so that means one thing... {Ok, I'm sure it means more than one thing, but that's not the point.} Today I am 23. It just doesn't seem possible, but it's so, and I'm thankful for it...

The Lord has blessed with another beautiful day. This morning the ladies who work in the kitchen here at work serenaded me with Happy Birthday, and over the past few days some lovelies has been so kind to give me gifts.

I couldn't thank the Lord enough though for blessing me with another year...

I Think It's Time to Get This Out There

I've not been much of a blogger lately, but I really do have a good reason this time. No really, I do.

I know I haven't posted anything much since that roses post a while back. I have my reasons for that as well. Actually I have one reason for that, and it's just I wasn't ready to post anything about it quite yet. But I figure it's time to get it out there...

Let's see... I guess I need to start with how the roses guy and I just went out to eat and that was that. I did spend some time with him and his family, but the two of us weren't working out. I knew that the Lord didn't want that, and he pretty much knew it as well. I have seen a lot of him over the last month though. I know what you are thinking. "Why in the world would you two being seeing a lot of each other if you aren't together?" Well, that's simple. For the last month his older brother and I have been. Yes, I said his older brother.

These two brothers are complete opposites, and it didn't take long for me to realize that. Before Cody {the rose guy} and I talked about things I had already been praying about the whole situation. It's all an odd situation, I know, but it's how it worked out, and I believe that the Lord worked it out that way. Plus a dear friend of mine has been praying for two years about Jacob when it comes to me. Who knew?

I know, this is a whole lot to take in... It has been for me as well. We've been spending a whole lot of time together over this past month, and my mom loves him, which is really something.

Homeschool Hike {Pic Heavy}

The first Friday of this month I went with the kids from church who are home schooled {or have a sibling that is being home schooled, so I'm thinking it was almost all the kids except for those who were sick.} on a hike. The kids were learning about different trees in the area. Ok, I was learning too, but I don't think I did a very good job. I can tell you what a bull pine is, but that's about as far as it goes. We all had a really great time. It was scorching outside, but it was a whole lot of fun! I'm thankful I was able to spend that time with all those kids! Now I'm ready for next month because I'm ready to go crazy in the pumpkin patch!! {Can you tell I'm excited?!}

Now here was the fun part! The Black Gum tree. {See I did learn something!!} They say that this tree is good for brushing teeth. I have no idea how true it is, but it sure did make for some funny moments!

Here was another fun one... I can't remember the name of the tree, but apparently it tastes like bubble gum. I didn't try it, but those who did said that it really did taste like gum.

We were all happy when it was eating time!

Two men against three women, two of which are pregnant, in a tennis match. I can tell you the men didn't fare too well.

It was a fun trip, and I sure am thankful that the kids were able to do something so fun!

My 9/11

It's hard to believe that it was ten years ago that I was sitting in my 7th grade class watching the tv with the rest of my classmates seeing all that was going on.

We were confused and scared. There were a lot of tears and a lot of questions.

I remember walking through the front door after getting off the bus, and I saw my mom sitting on the couch crying.

I joined.

Of course there was still confusion, but I knew something bad was going on.

Over the next few days it all started becoming clear.

Over the next few days I hardly ever turned the tv off. I just wanted to see someone pulled out alive. That was all.

I don't think I'll ever be able to erase those images from my mind just like every one else out there.

A few years ago I was able to go to Ground Zero, and it blew my mind at how quite it was around that area. I could see it all again in my mind as I looked around and remembered this and that from the news. I'm thankful I was able to go. I hate the fact that I was able to go stand and see something like that, but I'm thankful that I was able to see it if that makes any sense.

Ten years...

No doubt to those who had family and to those who worked to help others it's seems just like yesterday.

I'm thankful for those who give all that they do for this country. I know it isn't what it once was, but I'm still so thankful and so proud that I can call myself an American. I take it for granted so much, but the Lord has blessed me tremendously by allowing me to be here.

So, Thank you Lord for this place and the people who sacrifice more than I can ever know for me.

It's been some time since I last posted huh?

Sorry about that.

The whole "30 Day Challenge" didn't work for me. Not because I didn't want it to work, but I've rarely been home, and yeah, it's just not gonna work right now.

There have been some changes around here lately. I plan on posted about that soon. I'll give you this hint though... that guy from the "roses" post I have been seeing quite a bit lately, but not in a this could be the one type of way either, but I have saw him quite a bit the last couple of weeks. (No doubt this is a what in the world? moment for you all!) Don't worry, it's nothing crazy or bad.
Let's just put it this way, I've learned that sometimes the Lord just works things out a bit differently than we might think.

Hopefully tomorrow, after I get some major cleaning done, I'll post about the hike I went on with the home schooled kids from church last Friday. It was a ton of fun!

Anyways, I hope you all have been having a fantastic last few days.

I won a piggy bank from Jen at jdavissquared a little while back. I asked her if she could make me a Doctor Who bank, and even though she had no idea what I was talking about, she did it.
When I opened it up on Monday I could have cried! No really! It was just that beautiful!!

I sent her this picture, and she said it wouldn't be as "detailed". Psshhh... Please.... It was perfect!

I also asked for it to say Allons-y since that is my favorite saying from my favorite Doctor as well as stars and planets.

I remember doing a few posts last year, but this year I want to actually do it all.

Introduce Yourself

{I won't say all that much since I'm aiming to do this whole thing this month. Wait, can you believe it's September already?!? Wow.}

My name is Ashley, and I am an almost 23{again, wow!} year old TN girl. I am a housekeeper, so yes, I clean toilets, and yes, I do enjoy it. Who would have ever thought?
I am saved by the grace of God. I didn't deserve it, and I still don't, but I am so thankful that He saw fit to deal with my heart about salvation! {You can read all about it by clicking on the Testimony button at the top of the page.}
As the song says, "it sure is something, everything for nothing..." That's exactly what He did!!
I don't find myself all that interesting, but I'm happy, so that's all that matters.
Oh, and I love painting my nails. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but life has been busy. I've not really been on the computer lately. There have been a lot of changes around here this past week, but I really don't want to get into that right now, but I will post about it in a later time, Lord willing.

I'm Lovin'...The people the Lord has put in my life that care more for me than I could ever even really know.

I'm Lovin'... That He knows what is best for me.

I'm Lovin'... How He works in ways that I don't always understand, but it's always in a way that is best for me.

I'm Lovin'...His plan for my life, but not only that, He has that plan in motion even if I may think otherwise at times.

I'm Lovin'...The way He will answer a prayer in a way that just amazes me.

I'm Lovin'... That I know who holds tomorrow.

I Won't Leave Y'all Waiting

Some of you saw my last post, and some of you probably didn't since I posted it at around 12 in the morning... In case you didn't it mostly consisted of a picture... this picture to be more specific...

I'm not really sure how to go about this post. I guess I might as well just throw it all out there huh?

Saturday night I went out to eat, and get this, it was with a guy! I know, that's crazy huh?

Last Sunday he asked if it would be alright if I went to eat with him so we could get to know each other better. I felt ok with it since I had already been praying about the whole thing, so as you can tell, I said yes.

I actually had a really great time.

We went to eat and afterwards we went to the fair. I watched my first tractor pull ever, which just amazed me, and that was about all we did there. Oh, and there were fireworks. I'm talking real fireworks. I hadn't seen fireworks since 2010's 4th of July. We went to two different Wal-Mart stores.
Yes, two.
What I really enjoyed the most though was just talking. We talked quite a bit, and it was a lot easier than I expected it to be.

This isn't anything official. We are still getting to know each other, and I'm guessing he had a good time Saturday due to some things he said.

I don't know if anything will come from this, but I just want to wait on the Lord and follow His will.

I'm not sure my church family is all for this though! :) They are just weired out by the fact that I actually let a guy sit beside me Thursday night! {Can you tell I've said no to every other guy that has come along?} Really though, they are happy about it, but I know that they worry about me, and I'm thankful for that. It's good to know that they care so much!

I'll let you blog lovelies know how things go, so don't worry, you won't be in the dark!

Now that we have let all that out of the bag, I sure do hope you all are having a very blessed Monday!!

The Camp-Out {Finally}

I'm finally getting around to the post of the camp-out. It's only ended up taking me about a month, but hey, it's here now!

There won't be many words on this post since there are so many photos, but I will tell about our night...

We stared at around 7 PM with a couple games here and there. Mostly we were all just ready for food!! Hotdogs, smores, homemade popscicles, and anything else that wasn't all too good for you!

We had a small tv and the Wii outside because it was time for a dance-off! We had such a blast with all that room! We have some crazy faces in the photos, but that's what makes them so great!

Eventually we crawled in our little bed area, but sleep was far from our minds! We watched some {key word there} of The Sandlot. We finally just opted for laughing and telling stories for the next few hours. I gave up at 2 AM. I couldn't do it anymore!!

At 4 AM {yes, you read that right} I was up! The neighbors dog who we call Sal was laying all over us! The plus side was I got to see an amazing sunrise.
We were all in by 6 AM, and let's just say we weren't the most amazing people to be around that day, but it sure was fun!!

We had a blast, but I think it will be a while before we have another one of these!!

Fill In The Blank {It's Friday}

I haven't done a Fill in the Blank Friday in many a Fridays, so today I plan on doing just that.

I'm beyond tired right now, but it's to the point that I can't sleep. I guess that's what happens when you wake up wide awake at 2:00AM & stay up until after 5 watching Hey Arnold! on DVD.

Ok, now onto those blanks...

1. My idea of pure perfection would be being able to eat at Dairy Queen everyday without gaining a pound.

2. God ;D makes the world go 'round.

3. If it weren't for money & a plane ride I'd be headed to Ireland right now.

4. Bloggers are just lovely! Some of the people that I count absolute blessings in my life are bloggers! {Oh! & last night at church when I walked in this lovely blogger was there with her family! I just about fell over!

5. If I had the money I'd buy you well, I don't really know. Probably an ice cream or something like that!;D

6. I'm glad it's Friday because Lord's will I'll be spending a couple hours with my nephews and niece, and then head over to my friend's house so I can beat her at rummy and redeem myself from Tuesday night!

7. Something I'm excited about is every thing that is going on right now! Oh, and tomorrow's dinner. :D

My Wednesday is pretty full today. Cleaning, sewing, homework, but I'm ok with that. I actually love all that, so it works out pretty well!

Today I"m lovin' these things...

I'm Lovin'... This photo of my oldest nephew and I during our camp out. When I was looking through them this one was definitely one of my favorites!

I'm Lovin'...This little, or not so little, guy that lives in our backyard. We see him quite often, and I like him{or her}.

I'm Lovin'... The Goodwill trip I took the first Saturday of the month. I was able to pick up these boots for half off. You probably don't know this, but I LOVE boots. I would wear them all summer if I wouldn't get funny looks or scorch.

I'm Lovin'... The people the Lord has put in my life.

I'm Lovin'...The Pastor and Pastor's wife he has allowed me to have. Just last night talking to them after school about something knew in my life I realize how absolutely blessed I am to have them!

I'm Lovin'... Answered prayers.

I'm Lovin'... How amazing school was last night! I loved it last time, but I'm thinking that this time it is going to be so much sweeter!

I'm Lovin'... That when I'm scared that I can just run to my Saviour. There are times when I just can't share my heart with others, but I can always share it with Him!!

I'm Lovin'... That He is ALL I need!!

A Quick Post & Something Knew

So sorry I've been such a horrible {let's just face it, I'm not that great at this! ;D} blogger lately. I've rarely been home these last few weeks, and when I am it's normally time for me to be in the bed!

Let's see... Thank you to those of you who were praying concerning my last post. God is good, and He has answered prayers.
My mom had some health scares, but as I've said time and time again, I'm thankful that His mercies are knew every morning!
A man I work with has been having some health problems that are heartbreaking, but I know that God is able.

I've been able to spend some time with my pastor and his family quite a bit recently, so that has been a blessing and like old times! Friday night we took an all day trip to a camp meeting, and it was wonderful! I always love it!

Lord willing, tomorrow night I will be taking a Bible class that I took a few years back. I'm looking forward to it! So, my Tuesday nights will be full for the next few months.

Hmmm....

Something else...

There is something going on in my life right now that is knew, scary, & exciting to me all at once...

I promise to write more about it later, but as of now this something is being surrounded with prayer from quite a bit of people, and I'm so thankful for that! I'm definitely looking forward to where the Lord will take this "something" in my life, and I also look forward to sharing it, but... you will just have to wait!

Lovely Wednesday Loves

It's that lovely day of the week again, Wednesday. {Do you have any idea how long it took me in life to learn how to spell Wednesday? I'm still learning some days.}

It's actually Tuesday night {not to hard to spell}, but tomorrow, Lord's will, I'll be watching two of my cousins again, so I may not get around to posting this on the actual Wednesday, so in comes the great scheduled post.

I'm Lovin'... That I'm feeling so much better today. {or tonight... Who knows? This itty bitty bug may hit me again in the morning.}

I'm Lovin'... That on Sunday I was able to spend the day with my pastor, his wife, little ones, and another brother from the church after service. It was like old times again, and I just love that.

I'm Lovin'... The Sock Bun. I'm actually rockin' it right now... {well... again, Tuesday night...} Oh how my scalp is loving me for doing this instead of a twisted bun!!

I'm Lovin'...The camp-out from Friday night! I can't wait to share, but it will have to wait until I have time to sit down and do it.

I'm Lovin'... When little kids who have called me Ashie or something like that, start calling me Ashley. Ok, I miss it a little because it means they are growing up, but it's just something is all.

I'm Lovin'... I know I said it last week, but again, I'm lovin' that the Lord's mercies are knew every morning.

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.-Lamentations 3:22-23

I'm Lovin'... That I KNOW He is real. I know there are some who don't believe that only want to draw me into arguments, but I know what He did for me, and I know what He has done for others. I don't know much, and I don't have all the answers, but neither does any one else regardless of what they might try and convince you of. My God IS real. That's all there is to it. I take God's word for what it says. Of course I have questions, and of course there are times when my mind is just like "whoa", but what kind of God would He be if I did know everything about Him and this creation? Why do I have to have an answer for everything in life? Why do you? {This what happens when you listen to a well known, so called "great mind" go on about things. I find it funny that he is yet to disprove my God, but he has had to come up with his own "theories" about God and life. Ok, finished with this small rant!}

I'm Lovin'... Just the fact that He is who He is.

Coming Up: Campout!

Lord willing, tomorrow {& possibly Saturday} I will be having a backyard campout with my nephews and niece.

I'm excited.

Probably more than they are.

I have all these ideas in my head that will probably not come to pass, but that's ok because I have smores stuff and homemade popsicles in the freezer. Oh, and let's not forget the hotdogs... Hotdogs.. Yeah, Oscar Myer hotdogs. My favorite. {Unless you count those 99 cent ones that are red.}

I found a screen house yesterday by accident after looking all over town for one{a tent for 5 just isn't cheap, & this way I can see if any opossums are on the way. I don't like 'em I tell ya.}, so that's ready except for the putting it up part, which I'm hoping will be a breeze. We will see.

The tv and Wii will probably be put outside because we want to have a dance off outside at night. I mean, who wouldn't? {& of course I need some Sandlot for a camp-out!!}

I've been on Pinterest some today, and of course I just have some camp out stuff to share. Not that any of this will be done, but ya know how Pinterest goes.

I'm so glad Pinterest was invented because I have been able to save so many amazing photos of nail art that I want to do.

Some I have done, but the web is full of amazing nail designs. It's just amazing!

I have fallen in love with gradient nails. I've done a few, but I have a feeling that gradient will be something I'll keep around.

Wednesday Loves

It's been a long while since I linked up with Jamie for What I Love Wednesday. I've definitely missed it that's for sure!

I'm Lovin'... Nail polish orders as a reward for working hard the past two weeks.

I'm Lovin'... These hair ties. I've seen them around, and I always thought they seemed ridiculous. I'm so glad I was wrong. They are absolutely perfect for my thick hair!

I'm Lovin'... Season 4 of Boy Meets World.

I'm Lovin'... That Lord willing, in August I'll be starting Bible classes again. It's been three years since I graduated, and I'm excited about doing it again!!

I'm Lovin'... That I was able to be at church Sunday night. I had to work Sunday morning, which I definitely didn't love, and it was such a blessing being back in God's house!

I'm Lovin'... How the Lord allowed us to meet with Him during the service Sunday night. One of the women at the church had family in this month, and her granddaughter testified and sang Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus. How my heart was helped by her testimony! It was almost as if she was reading my mind! Then the song! Oh my! I could never thank the Lord enough!

I'm Lovin'... How even though there are times when my eyes aren't on Him, but yet He always, always, always reminds me of that love He has for me.

I'm Lovin'... That Lord willing, we will be in the new church soon!! I am just so excited about it, and still, I plan on posting about the church one day!

I'm Lovin'... How when I fail Him and feel just so worthless, that all I have to do is ask for forgiveness. Sometimes it's hard to accept that forgiveness, but one day last week after one of those moments it was plain and clear spoken to my heart to not sit down and beat myself up, but to just do what brings me closer to my Saviour.
It was a blessing to my heart, and I needed to hear it. I love how the Holy Spirit will do just that!

I'm Lovin'... How Sunday morning while I was at work when my mind started trying to have an argument with God over why my life wasn't what I expected it to be after I did what He told me all those years ago, that I had to ask Him to forgive me for being so discontent. I love that He knows what is best for me. He has a plan for me, and if it includes me being where I'm at then I'm thankful for it.
That's one reason why the testimony and song meant so much to me Sunday night. He always knows what we need, when we need it.

I'm Lovin'... Just who He is. He blesses me tremendously, and I never want to forget that, but sometimes it's nice to just remember WHO He is. It's amazing, and I'm so thankful that I know Him, but most of all that He knows me.

Anthropologie Inspired Bracelet

I was browsing around Anthropologie the other day when this bracelet caught my eye. I thought it was gorgeous, as is almost every thing at Anthro, but $38.00 for a bracelet just isn't happening.

Then I remembered how there are tons of beads around this house. We like beads here.
No shame.

I started off with some of our bead collection.

I wanted to try and imitate the color scheme of the original bracelet, so I picked out some beads that were similar.

Here are some of the beads I pulled to pick over.

I had an old necklace I bought years ago from American Eagle. I can't even tell you the last time I wore this necklace, but since it was on a suede cord I new it would be great to use for this bracelet. If you have some suede cord, perfect. If you have just some old suede laying around, again, perfect!

After removing the charms, I added a gold bead onto the cord and knotted the ends.

I pulled out some wire for the beading, but before I started the beading I needed to attach one side to the suede cord.

Just make a small loop around the suede above the bead that has just enough room to move the suede a little. This way the size of the bracelet will be able to be adjusted. When you get it to the right size just use a crimp bead on the wire to keep it in place.
Remember, just crimp one side. The other side will be the last step.

Then it's time to start beading. Arrange the beads however you want. Just make it your own!

After you are finished beading, crimp the other side the same way and flash that bracelet around!!

I definitely plan on trying this bracelet again, but I'd love to try and find some gold nugget looking beads. That is one thing that I absolutely loved about the bracelet at Anthropologie, and while I am happy with mine, it is missing that little somethin' somethin'.

Happy Friday everyone! I hope it's going great. Sorry for the lack of blogging lately, but I've been super busy with work and what not. Back to it tomorrow, so today I'm doing pretty much nothing. It was 100 degrees or more a few days out of this week, and in the 90's the rest, so being indoors with the air is nice today, and I plan on enjoying it. :D

I wanted to join in with Neely's Boob Tube Babble today. I didn't do much tv watching, but I did sit down a watch a few things this week. {Normally at night when I would have been better off getting some sleep.} So here I go, boob tube babbling.

On Monday night I had to watch the season premiere of Man vs. Wild because I need to know what to do if I'm ever dropped off in the middle of the Everglades or trapped on a volcano in Hawaii.
Or it could just be because I think it's an awesome show.

Jake Gyllenhaal was with Bear in this episode, and I'm pretty sure I laughed more than anything. It was a great episode.
I would love to see Jake on this show more. He just works so great with Bear.
{I had an "Awwww" moment when he would always stop to help the camera man.}

Oh, and I think I had a panic attack while watching the part in this clip...

There were a couple nights this week that I stayed up to watch Improv-a-ganza. Yes, I realize they are reruns, but I really don't care. This show makes me laugh. A lot. There is just something about laughing until my stomach hurts that makes life sweet.

I also watched Boy Meets World quite a bit this week. It never grows old. {My season 4 DVD should be here today!} What happened to shows like this? It was always funny, always had a lesson to teach, and it always reminded me of my days in elementary and high school. I had some amazing friends like these as well as a teacher that reminds me of Mr. Feeny. I get all nostalgic when I watch this.

It's that wonderful day that I love!

The 4th of July!

I'm so thankful that I was born in this beautiful country.
I love being able to put my hand over my heart and pledge allegiance to the flag... I love the freedoms that I still have... I love that I'm able to freely worship the Saviour that I adore... I love what this country was founded on...

I do know that this country isn't even half of what it once was, and I do know that people have forgotten what it was founded on, but I still am so thankful that I was born here.

So many gave their lives so I could have the privileges I have in this country. I'm not just talking about the soldiers,{which I'm not taking anything away from} but there were men and women who gave it all so I would be able to serve my God freely. I hate the fact that it has been forgotten by so many, or sadly never taught to most.

Yes, this day is always a blessing to celebrate with family and friends and great food, but I don't want to forget all that was done for me by those who freely gave their lives that I can celebrate this day.

Ok, I need to tell you all something...

I LOVE the 4th of July.

I am not even kidding. It's been my favorite holiday since before I can remember. I think it all started with a parade and a piece of candy, but that's not the point. I love the 4th. That's the point.

Today a lot of celebrating is going on around these parts. I usually don't go to the parades around here anymore because, let's be honest, they aren't any count. A firetruck, a cop, and about 49388584 four wheelers... Yeah, if I wanted to see that I'd just drive down the road. BUT I still love the 4th of July.

The fireworks, the food, being an American... it's just awesome.

I also love dressing in my red, white, and blue. I love it anytime, but I really love it right now. I've got a whole outfit planned out for tomorrow's church service. I wanted a little more, so last night {actually this morning at about 1} I made myself a red, white, and blue headband.
I'm so looking forward to wearing it!

{Then I moved on to this... I just free handed my circles. I didn't want very big flowers, so I just winged it really. I cut six of each circle, large and smaller, but I only used about five and four.}

{I used little jewels for the middle of my flowers...}

{Fold the circles over like a taco...}

{Then fold over again to create a "triangle" and hot glue... Keep doing this until you have all your circles finished... Then glue them onto a small piece of circled felt.}

{Then you have this... after gluing or sewing them onto a headband.}

Lord's will on Monday I'll be going to my pastor and his family's home for a cookout and fireworks. I'm making a red, white, and blue cake, and some of those red, white, and blue strawberries that you have been seeing all over the blog world. I feel like that little girl in Despicable Me with her unicorn...

but I'm saying "It's the 4th of July!"

Watch Where You Sit

Everyone loves pizza right? Well everyone should love pizza. If you would have been around me Wednesday night you would know that I love pizza. I think I took it a little far though.

Here's the story:

I made personal pan pizzas with the nephews and niece. We all ate our pizzas in the living room wherever we could squeeze. I went to put in a movie. I usually sit on this little table like thing when I do, and after longer than it should have been I jumped up with this terrified look on my face. {or so I was told.} I turned around, and that's when the "oh my, I think I just earned a new ab" laughter started all around the house. {yes, I was included in that.}
Yes, I sat on one of those pizzas. Not just a slice, but the entire thing.

I learned it's probably best to look at my seat before I sit from now on.
Remember that.

I Know It's Been A While

Sorry everyone... I know it's been some time since I last posted.

It's been a full couple of weeks. If I'm not at work, I'm watching my niece and nephews, and if I'm not watching them I'm watching two of my cousins, and if I'm not watching them I'm gone somewhere... No complaining though... Well, I have complained some, but when I can't hold my eyes open I tend to get grouchy. I wish that weren't the case, but that's how I do.

Not only that, but we had a big storm a couple weeks ago, and lightening hit something outside. We didn't have phone or internet for a while. It's amazing how much one depends on those things! It's also amazing at how much I use google for the unanswered questions in life like what color is the tongue on a ladybug?

*note: that wasn't an actual question asked around here, but if gives you an idea of what we use google for in this house!

My nephews and niece are asleep in the living room right now, so I thought I'd do a quick "I'm still around post". I've got a whole lotta blog making up to do.

Hopefully starting tomorrow I'll have some real posts back up! I do have something quite silly to share that's for sure!

The Battle of Sugar Water

This year we decided to get a hummingbird feeder. It sure has been a hoot watching all the little birdies. I've learned something about these birds though; they don't always like to share.

God's Word

I am so thankful for God's word. It has taken me some time to grow to love it like I do. I'm just being honest. When I first got saved I had such a love for it. I couldn't wait to have time to read, I loved learning verses, and I loved studying it. Then I let my heart grow cold on God. There are still times in my life now when I fail. I'm flesh, that won't stop, but my heart desires to do His will.

Sunday was one of those days when God's word became so real to me.
Sunday morning the pastor preached on hell. I was troubled during the service. I was so confused because I knew I was saved, but yet I was troubled. For some time I had been struggling with my salvation.

Let me say this, there is an area of my life that I haven't let the Lord be the Lord of. When I fail in this area the doubt comes strong. Sunday that kept going through my mind. I was just so upset because I kept doubting. This would come up and that would come up in my mind. Some of the craziest things ever. If I told you what they were you would probably laugh because that is just how silly they were, but they were causing me to doubt.

I went home after the service, and I was just beyond upset because of the service that morning. I didn't know any other thing to do but read 1 John.
My life would line up. Of course not 100 percent, but I knew that after that night in September 2004 I was a new creature. (2 Corinthians 5:17) There are times when that will bother me as well. I wasn't in some of things that others were before they were saved. I didn't go out and drink and party, I didn't do drugs.. but I knew that night that I was lost. (Actually I knew before that night.) I knew I was on my way to hell, and all I knew was that Jesus was the only was I wasn't going there. I can't tell you what I said that night, and I can't tell you what I was thinking other than I knew I was lost and I wanted to be saved. My life took a dramatic turn that night. Things were different. I may not have stopped drinking and what not like some people, but I knew my life was different.
I had a love for God's house. Before I hated being at church. I hated being around His people, but now I adore them. God's word meant nothing to me, but I couldn't wait to get into it. I loved spending time in prayer. I remember praying at school when I would be done with work. I just loved my Saviour!

So Sunday while reading when I came across 1 John 3:20-21 I had to back up and read it again, and then I went back and read it again. I couldn't get away from it.

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

I went back to church that night, but I still couldn't shake the doubt. It was driving me crazy! But God is faithful!!
It was almost as if every song sung mentioned the Lord and His salvation... Being sure of it... Knowing that it was through the blood...
I knew the Lord wanted me to go pray and just talk to Him during one of the songs, but of course I didn't make a move.

The pastor got up and these words came out of his mouth...

"No doubt God is wanting to do something here tonight. Maybe someone here just felt that tug of prayer, and you didn't make a move..."

I didn't have to hear anymore. I just took off to that altar.

I needed to ask the Lord to forgive me for doubting what He did for me! I need to just tell Him thank you for saving me! I needed to just tell Him about that night that He came looking for me when I wasn't looking for Him as a little ole' 15 year old girl from the middle of nowhere! I just needed to ask Him to continue to help me.

I just spent some time talking to Him that night. I couldn't tell you how thankful I am for His word, and for the help He brings.

I'm not going to say that doubt won't come again... and I can't say that it hasn't already swept through my mind at times, but I can go back to that night, and I can go back to God's word. I know what happened in my heart. I know. I know that I'm saved, and I know that it was nothing that I did... It was all the Lord and His precious blood.

I am just so thankful for Him!

Lovin' Wednesday

I'm Lovin'... Reading the historical books in the Bible. Right now I'm reading 1 Samuel, & while I've been reading the historical books I've remembered just how much I love them! It also hit me the other night when I was reading about Jephthah that it was real. I mean I know that God's word is real, but it really hit me that I was reading actual history.... maybe that makes sense!

I'm Lovin'... That the Bath and Body Works Hello Yellow sale starts Friday! There is one thing on my list that I'm aiming to get... Yes, just one thing, even though I know I'll probably end up with more.

I'm Lovin'... Mandarin salad from work. {One of the cooks sent it home with me!} It may not be the prettiest stuff, but it sure is delicious!

I'm Lovin'... The new layout. Last night I worked on the About section.

I'm Lovin'... That there are still people in this world who stand for what is right and won't compromise.

I'm Lovin'... The weather. Yes, I realize we probably need some rain, but I won't lie, I've not been hating this 10 day streak of over 90 degree weather. It's been beautiful outside!

Sunday Ramblings {shouldabeenSaturday}

I've come to this whole "Saturday night ramblings" thing, and I think I like it. You may not, but I can't help it... It's just nice to remember some of the things that made me smile or cry or whatever throughout the week.
I missed posting last night because, well, I don't really have a reason other than I just didn't get around to posting. You know how it goes.

So... I figured posting this on Sunday would be just fine. It is my blog after all. ;)

I only had to work one day during the week, and honestly I would have been fine with another day or two. I'll probably wish I could kick those words soon though. But really, I am thankful the work that the Lord has given me. Not only that, but the ability to work.
Since I didn't have much of a work week I mostly just did a few things here and there around the house. Tuesday I went with my friend for a little while just to spend some time with her. She is a blessing to me, and I always love the time we get to spend together.

Thursday night was a blessing. The service went a little bit different, but I always love it when they go that way. The Lord sure did help and bless. He just let us praise Him for a little while. It was nice.

I'm still working on the blog post about the church building. It's just taking some time because I've been trying to find photos of the ground breakin' and of the building we are in now. I just want the post to give glory to God, so hopefully some time next week.

I've also been working on a new blog layout. I know, I know, another blog layout? Well, yeah. I also plan on working on my pages and what not. I want to change some of the things that I've written... Don't worry though, that testimony won't be changing any! ;D I'll get into all that though after I finish it.

The other day I ordered some hot rollers.

My hair has went through this growing spurt the last little while. My hair has always grew fast, but it just seems like BAM! lately. The length it is now is the length it was before I cut my hair a couple years back. I remember being a nervous wreck when I went to get it cut! I told the hairdresser that if I cried to just look over me! Ha...
I really missed it being long, and now I just love it being back to its old self! Hopefully these hot rollers will help me out a little bit. I usually use a curling iron, and I'll be honest, I'm not good with it. I don't like taking the time to do it. We will see what happens!

Oh my! I started cutting out a skirt pattern the other day, and ha! I only wish you could have seen the confusion on my face! My mom and I got a huge laugh out of it after she had to explain it to me! Hopefully soon I'll be able to show the skirt, and now it should actually fit something other than a Barbie doll!

Friday I went with that friend I mentioned earlier to check out the new Dunkin' Donuts. It wasn't what I expected because it is an express, but I'm still a fan. I think I'll be going to Sonic instead though when at work because when it comes to donuts or slushies... Yeah, that definitely isn't a tough one!
I was thankful I was able to go with her though because Friday night we were able to talk until about 11:30 about some things that had been on my heart. It sure was a blessing. She helped me by telling me some things, and she just let me give her my heart. We spent some time in prayer, and I just thank the Lord for her and her husband! I sure do thank the Lord for allowing our paths to cross!

Last night I was reading in Judges, and came to the chapter about Ehud. I've read it many times, but last night it just blessed my heart. I can't really explain why, but it did. That's just God's word! It does the heart good!

I also saw Psalm 115:1 posted somewhere the other night, and I just love how even though you may have read a verse before that sometimes it just stand out to you a little bit more.

Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.

Yep, I sure do appreciate God's word!

This morning we had such a wonderful service. The Lord sure did speak to this heart of mine. He has been speaking to this heart of mine for some time about just giving my all to Him. All of me. Not just what I want to give to Him, but every single area of my life. We were able to hear about the King's Men, and my, what a message! I sure do appreciate my Pastor!!

I wanted to share this with you all. It is the Sis. Randa Jordan singing You Raise Me Up. This has been such a blessing to me. This families music has been a blessing to me for years. It has clips of Bro. Fain Jordan's preaching, and when I first heard it I could have just shouted for a little while. I sure do miss the old circuit rider, but boy, just thinking about him being in glory! Wow! I hope it is a blessing!

Wednesday Once Again

First off, my heart and prayers are going out to those affected by the storms this week. No doubt people are hurting, but God does all things well even though we can't always see what He is doing through our eyes.

I haven't been on blogger much this week, so I'm sorry that I've not commented back to some of you from last Wednesday.

I'm Lovin'... This place...

I'm Lovin'... The message that the pastor preached Sunday night. What a blessing and help is was to this heart of mine!

I'm Lovin'... That those times when I'm just down and out, or I'm discouraged I can just turn to my Saviour and just give Him my heart.

I'm Lovin'... That He knows my very makeup.

I'm Lovin'... How He uses things to build our faith.

I'm Lovin'... Grace... He giveth more grace. We had to say goodbye to a family this week for a year, and it's hard, but there is no doubt that He will give this family such grace! Not only will He give them grace, but He will give it to us as well. It's great to know that no matter what we will all be together again one day!

I'm Lovin'... Being saved. Never since that night seven years ago have I ever wished I hadn't been. No, this journey isn't always easy, but He never promised that it would be, but it sure has been amazing! People may say being a Christian is boring, but they have no idea! Nothing about this life is boring! Just so you know, I'd do it all over again! {But thank the Lord I don't have to!!}

Saturday Night Ramblings {2}

It looks like these Saturday night ramblings might become a regular around here.

I've not had much work this week, but I've just tried to keep myself busy with things around the house, and I've just taken a lot of time this week to spend with my Saviour. It's been wonderful!

I didn't do much yesterday though. I did do some laundry (for about the billionth time this week), and I gave my room some much needed attention.

Last night I did do some Old Navy ordering. Last week when I went with my pastor and his wife to the doctor we went to the thrift store since we still had some time until we had to be at the church we were visiting. My pastor's wife was telling me about a skirt at Old Navy, and of course I knew which one she was talking about! So, I had the money, but not only that, the Lord worked it out for me to get close to $80 worth of items for only $48! Yes, I said the Lord worked it out!

Tonight we had a service at the new church building. This was the first time I had been there since October, and wow was what came out of my mouth as I walked in! I can't wait to share about it! I'm just so excited about what the Lord is doing. It really hit me tonight. It's just amazing!

The service was such a blessing. Just hearing some preaching about Calvary. It never grows old. What a time of prayer the Lord let me have with Him yet again! What a blessing being able to pray for the first time at that altar tonight as well! Jesus just never stops at amazing me!

How in the world could I ever doubt such a God?!?

I could just never thank Him enough for being who He is!

Lord willing I will have a post up about the church sometime during the week.

It's Wednesday

As the title says, it's Wednesday. I always love linking up with Jamie. I only had to work Monday, and it wasn't even a full day, which was fine with me. I ended up getting an hour long nap in on one of the couches at work. :D
Tuesday was spent cleaning the house up a bit since two of my nephews are here this week I figured if I didn't get the cleaning in now it would be a disaster by the end of the week. We can be a messy bunch when put together! :D

Now, onto those loves...

I'm Lovin'... Answered prayers.

I'm Lovin'... Not just answered prayers, but the fact that I can spend time with my Lord in prayer!

I'm Lovin'... Those prayers that we consider small. Sunday night almost immediately after I told the Lord I was having trouble not doubting Him with a prayer, He answered an entirely different one! The song leader had us sing "How Firm a Foundation". That song had been on my heart that morning, and I said a silent prayer that the Lord would put it on the brother's heart. I just cried and laughed back there... Just me and the Lord!
Those small prayers help me! He let me know that He can answer those others that may seem big to me. I love that no prayer is small or big to Him!

I'm Lovin'... My church family. What a blessing they are!

I'm Lovin'... God's wonderful book divine!

I'm Lovin'... That when I'm down He picks me up when I come to Him!

I'm Lovin'... The friends that Lord gives... even those that I've never met face to face on this side of eternity! What a help and blessing they are as well!!

I'm Lovin'... Thinking on Him. When this mind of mine is heavy, all I have to do is think on Him, and that smile comes!

I'm Lovin'... Knowing that my ways are not His ways...

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

I'm Lovin'... That even though there are times I doubt Him, He is still faithful.

I'm Lovin'... That He has a plan for my life. My life isn't mine, but it is His, and it has taken me some time to trust Him with all of it. Over the past few weeks He has stirred this heart of mine to just give it all to Him. I want to be used of Him so He can receive all glory!

I'm Lovin'... How He will just listen, but not only listen, He will let me know some things.

If you look through my blog posts it seems as though I only post on Wednesdays anymore.
In all honesty there have just been more important things in life. I've wanted to spend more time in God's word. This week has been a blessing being in it. I had already read quite a bit of Deuteronomy this year, but I felt I needed to go back through it a little slower, and I'm so glad the Lord put that on my heart. I'll be honest, I don't always like it when I come to Deuteronomy, but I've been excited to open my Bible to it this week.

The service Thursday night was such a blessing. If I even started typing about it I would not stop! It's just great to know that He will make a way. No matter the fears, no matter the doubts, no matter what I see or how I feel, He will make a way. That's just great to know. He brought out so many different things that helped me in so many different areas of my life. It was a great time of prayer during the altar call for me. Only thanks to the Lord!

Friday I was suppose to go to Nashville for a doctor's appointment with my mom, but things changed. Thursday night after church my pastor and his wife had everything worked out for me to go with them so I could go hear Bro. Kidd, but of course I told them I wouldn't be able to go. When I came in Thursday night my mom told me we weren't going. I probably should have shouted! I called up the pastor and let him know. So, I spent the day with them yesterday, and it was such a blessing. Hearing Bro. Kidd again was of course a blessing.

On the way to the meeting last night I was thinking about that night I was on my way over there not looking for Him, but He was there waiting on me. It's hard to believe that in just a few short months it will be seven years since I walked down that old dirt path with my heart turned towards God. That night my life was changed eternally. It was just so wonderful remembering that night!

When I came home last night my heart was heavy with some things, and even now it still is, but the Lord has been helping me. Last night I shed tears unlike I have in a long time. Just to think that seven years ago I didn't have a Saviour to help me like I do now! {even though I doubt this thing would have been a big deal to me if I didn't know the Lord. No, it's not something the Lord has done to me. It's just something I wouldn't have cared about.}
He used some other people to help me as well last night that have no idea, and they probably never will, but I thank the Lord for them! I also have to thank the Lord for the message Thursday night because it went right along with it. It was all the Lord!!

I'm looking forward to the Sunday services. Lord willing, I'll be picking up two of my nephews tomorrow to spend the week. Yay for the last week of school!! That means no more waking them up so early! {They give me some pretty mean looks! I wonder if I gave em' like that when I was little?!}

I know, such a random post, but this way I can say I've posted on a day other than Wednesday!

What I Love This Wednesday

Ok, so I'm posting this on Tuesday night. I have a list of things that need to be done tomorrow, so I'll probably just have time to link up, so I figured why not put what I'm gonna be lovin' tomorrow, tonight?

I'm Lovin'... That, Lord willing, in a few months my pastor's wife will be having another little one! So excited!

I'm Lovin'... Friday will be the first Nashville trip in a while, and I'm not lovin' that, but I am lovin' that we may get to eat at Arby's. I definitely don't need fastfood, but I do love Arby's. Like seriously.

I'm Lovin'... That next week is the nephews' and niece's last week of school. I love the idea of not getting them up so early, or I guess getting myself ups o early! ;D

I'm Lovin'... On Saturday I bought a red, white, and blue flat sheet for 25 cents that will, Lord willing, be used on my quilt! Thank you Lord for sending everything in for that quilt!

I'm Lovin'... That I have everything cut out for the Bible cover and purse for the little girls at church.

I'm Lovin'... While listening and reading Deuteronomy tonight{Tuesday} I was blessed in such a way.

I'm Lovin'... That Lord willing, camp will still be on!

I'm Lovin'... That one of my nephews gave me a flower for Mother's Day. It was such a blessing.

I'm Lovin'... This flower pen that a little girl at church gave me. Those kids at church sure are a blessing to me to as well!

I'm Lovin'... That I serve a Saviour that loves me even though I don't understand why. He is more than I ever could have imagined.
